(formerly Home-Start East Sussex)
Lotus is a small, locally-operated charity situated in East Sussex, specialising in providing preventative and recovery domestic abuse support to women, children and families.
We adopt a holistic Whole Family Approach to enhance the safety, resilience, and future prospects of women and their families in our community, aiming to prevent the chances of problems getting worse or being repeated.
Our goal is the to prevent domestic abuse and help victim-survivors as they navigate their path to healing and recovery.
While our main focus is on supporting women and their children, we're also equipped to assist the entire family in the prevention and recovery of abuse, and broader safeguarding concerns.
Our Services
We run various group and one-to-one services, online and in person. We're here to help you find the best way forward for you. Our services are designed with your well-being in mind.
We can also connect you with other services. Our team includes friendly dedicated specialists and trained peer supporters who are here to support you every step of the way.

Natwest supports domestic abuse survivors in partnership with SafeLives
In 2021, a partnership between SafeLives and Natwest was set up to provide financial support to victims of abuse, and to help survivors move forward and promote recovery and resilience. Since then, we have gratefully received two grants from this partnership, which has enabled us to provide valuable extra financial support to our clients.

We would like to say a huge 'thank you' to Hailsham and Crowborough Waitrose stores for their generous donations to HSES Being Family Programme.
HSES welcomes a Boardroom Apprentice
An employee from the Pensions Regulator joins the HSES' Board of trustees as a Boardroom Apprentice. She brings with her a confidence in reading and explaining charity accounts and other financial information but does not have trustee or governance experience.
